Heat-resistant and flame-retardant protective functional textiles can further be divided into two categories based on their application areas: The first category also has high strength and is suitable for manufacturing composite products that have flame-retardant and heat-resistant properties; The second category also possesses flame-retardant and heat-resistant properties, however, its strength is relatively low and is mainly used in high-strength hybrid fiber textiles.
The main components of bulletproof functional textiles are ultra-high polymer fibers such as nylon. To achieve bulletproof performance, when a bullet hits the garment, the impact energy induces tensile and compressive elastic deformation in the internal textile fibers. Meanwhile, the shock force applied to the textile fibers directs outward from the point of impact, spreading the force over a larger area and thereby dispersing the energy. Consequently, the bullet is entrapped within the bulletproof layer.
In terms of composition, safety reflective functional textiles consist of two major components: reflective materials and textile substrates. The combination of these two elements results in strong retro-reflective properties when exposed to direct sunlight, significantly enhancing the visibility of the wearer. They are mainly used in school uniforms, sanitation worker uniforms, and traffic police uniforms, which frequently appear on streets.
