Introduction and Application Scene of PTFE Membrane

PTFE membrane is a micro porous membrane made of polytetrafluoroethylene by special process, calendering, extrusion, bidirectional stretching and so on. The PTFE membrane has a fibril micro porous structure with a porosity of more than 85%, porosity of over 85%, 1.4 billion micropores per square centimeter, aperture range of 0.02 μm-15 μm.

Main Structure
The surface morphology of PTFE micro porous membrane is spider web-like micro porous structure. Pores are formed between the microfibers, and the arrangement direction of the microfibers is basically parallel to the stretching direction; the junction of the fiber bundles is the node, which is formed by many micro fibers entangled.

PTFE Clothing Membrane

Based on the pore forming characteristics of polytetrafluoroethylene resin, the polytetrafluoroethylene film was made by bidirectional stretching. The surface of the membrane can reach more than 1 billion micropores per square centimeter, and the diameter of each micropore (0.1 μm-0.5 μm) is hundreds of times smaller than that of water molecules (20 μm-100 μm) and tens of thousands of times larger than that of water vapor molecules (0.0003 μm-0.0004 μm). So that water vapor can pass through, while water droplets can not pass through, excellent waterproof and moisture permeability can be achieved by using this micropore structure. In addition, because the hole is extremely small and longitudinally irregular bending arrangement, so that the wind can not pass through, and thus has the characteristics of wind protection and warmth, and so on. After compounding with other fabrics, it is widely used in military clothing, medical clothing, leisure clothing, fire protection, anti-virus, immersion operations and other special protective clothing, outdoor sports clothing, shoes, hats, gloves and other accessories, as well as sleeping bags, tents, rain gear and other materials.
